Collected exhibition at the Missouri History Society Museum

The Missouri Historical Society entrusted MBI to create custom artifact cases which float their archival treasures surrounded by large rear-illuminated graphics to give the artifacts a magical setting. MBI was asked to build cases that could support 7,000 pound objects such as an iron lung and a printing press.

MBI was also asked to create these massive cases (one is 39 feet wide and the other is 42 feet long), with sealed interiors for humidity control. We created a dessicant ducting system that circulates the interior air past 80 desiccant cartridges in trays located below the artifact case floor. MHS staff will regularly change the cartridges to ensure proper humidity control. The entire case strictly adheres to Oddy standards for artifact care. MBI worked only with Oddy-certified materials to make these cases which MHS plans to use for the next 20 years.
